Just a quick initial post to say what “InTheAuctions.com” is all about. Auctions have been around for some time both online and offline, in fact they were one of the most successful uses of the Internet when they were introduced. However, for whatever reasons I have found that I haven’t quite got round to using them even though they are a great idea. Well this site is about changing all of that and using auctions for two specific reasons and using them successfully.

The first reason for using an auction is to control the clutter that now appears in everyone’s life. Things are manufactured, we buy these things, we use them, we put them away. After a while these things tend to mount up. It seems after a while that we have too many things and wouldn’t it be good to get it under control. There is the issue of shouldn’t we really be recycling things anyway. It does seem wasteful doesn’t it that when we buy something and use it, say once or a few times and then never again, thaqt no one else ever gets the enjoyment or benefit of whatever it is. Let’s keep this stuff moving. Let’s have a home with only what is necessary and no more.

The second reason for using an auction is quite a good one. It has got to be one of the easiest ways of making money. A lot of the sales work is done for you when you place something on an auction so shouldn’t we be taking advantage of it. It is really important in these times that we learn to increase the number of ways we receive an income. Long gone are the safe life long salary days where you were assured an income. Using the auctions for creating another source of income seems to be both an interesting and profitable thing to do and I intend to do just that. Now, of course there are many people who have gone into business through selling things through the auctions, but I do not necessarily want to go that far. It would defeat the object of having many source of income any way and so I would personally just like it to be another string to my bow. So although it would be great to make a massive fortune using the auction I wouldn’t wish for it to be taking up all my time, so this will be an important point going forward. I don’t know yet what the limit of time should be, but it will be there. I would like this to be an income source derived from pleasure, not work, after all.

So, there you go. The two reasons really for using auctions and the reason I created this site. It’ll be an interesting investigation into making it profitable and useful that I would like to share with others and having this blog is perfect for sharing. I hope to make it useful as I find things out.
